Paint Correction

Multi-stage machine polishing that removes swirls, holograms and oxidation instead of hiding them.

From $5491-2 daysStudio & mobile

Swirl marks are thousands of fine scratches in your clear coat, mostly from washing. Under a shop light or direct sun they scatter reflection and make paint look flat and grey, especially on dark colours.

Correction removes a measured amount of clear coat to level those scratches out. Because clear coat is finite, this is a service where measurement matters more than effort. We take paint depth readings before and during, and we stop where the paint tells us to.

How it runs

  1. 1

    Measure

Paint depth gauge readings across the vehicle. Thin or previously repainted panels are flagged and treated conservatively.

  2. 2

    Test section

We correct one small area with the least aggressive pad and compound that works, then scale that recipe to the vehicle.

  3. 3

    Correct

Compound to remove defects, polish to refine, finish to remove any haze the earlier stages introduced.

  4. 4

    Verify

Panel wipe removes filling oils so what you see is genuine correction, checked under three different light sources.

  5. 5

    Protect

Sealant or ceramic coating, because bare corrected paint is unprotected paint.

Common questions

If your fingernail does not catch in it, we can usually remove or dramatically reduce it. If it catches, it has gone through the clear coat and correction alone will not fix it.

Done by measurement, no. Done repeatedly and aggressively without measurement, yes. That is exactly why we take depth readings and record them on your file.

One stage typically recovers 60 to 70 percent of defects and suits most daily drivers. Three stage approaches full correction and suits show cars and vehicles about to be coated for seven years.
